Life Cycle Ecological Footprint Reduction for a Tropical Building
نویسندگان
چکیده
Rapid urbanization significantly impacts natural resource demands and waste management in the construction sector. In this study, a novel methodology has been developed that could assess overall environmental impact of building during its lifespan by considering resources such as materials, energy use, emissions, water, manpower, wastes. The proposed method can estimate life cycle ecological footprint (EFT) building. result indicates 957.07 global hectares (gha) bioproductive land are required case CO2 absorption is most significant EFT low materials may reduce (EF) buildings, using renewable also operational EF solar PV systems have potential to building’s up two-thirds. assessment all existing buildings be examined order execute strategies for sustainable

متن کاملDetermination of Optimum Insulation Thickness for Building Walls in Iran Using Life Cycle Cost Analysis
Air-Conditioning (AC) systems are responsible for a considerable portion of the energy consumption in buildings located in high cooling load requiring regions of Iran. In addition, the heat flow through the buildingschr('39') external walls plays a major role in cooling load estimations for the countrychr('39')s hot regions. Therefore, application of insulation materials in external walls has g...
متن کاملBUILDING LIFE CYCLE. Tools for Building Components and Industrial Products
In the research activity carried out in this PhD’s Project, the Ecodesign approaches and tools are transferred into the Building Sector in order to check the common concepts between these two cultures. This main goal is justified by the awareness that in the building sector several changes have been done. First of all to conform itself to Sustainable principles, and then, in wide use of buildin...
متن کاملBuildingpi: a Tool for Building Life Cycle Analysis
Traditionally building simulation tools are used at the design phase of the building project. These models are used to optimise various design alternatives and reduce cost. Building performance assessment for the operational phase of a buildings life cycle is sporadic, typically working from historical metered data and focusing on bulk energy assessment. Building Management Systems (BMS) do not...
